Coverage
Completed seasons 2016–2025. 2026 is kept apart as "so far" and stays out of every career table and ranking. Lineup efficiency covers both eras; on MFL it uses the optimal lineup MFL scored under its own rules. Waiver-bid figures are Sleeper only, since MFL used waiver priority and first come, first served, with no bids.
Era-adjusted points
Figures that add player points across seasons (cornerstones, draft return, pickups and career points left on the bench) scale each season to Sleeper-era scoring: a point is multiplied by the Sleeper seasons' average team score over that season's average. An MFL point counts 1.24 to 1.34 and a Sleeper point about 1. Single seasons and single games stay raw.
Trade scorecard
Trades are scored in wins above replacement: each week a player was started counts his points against the best players the league left on benches at his position that season, turned into the extra chance of winning that week. The count runs from the week after the trade through three more seasons, each later season worth 10% less, playoff games included. A pick counts as the player drafted with it, and an asset traded on keeps earning through what came back. Measuring each season against its own replacement level puts MFL and Sleeper on the same footing without era factors.
Rated games
Dynasty Elo and playoff records count regular-season, playoff, final, third-place games. Consolation, toilet-bowl and fifth-place games are never rated.
Regular-season weeks
Luck, weekly finish, scoring, consistency, closers and faders and the mid-season swing use regular-season weeks only: 13 through 2020, 14 from 2021.
All-play record
Each week, an owner gets a win for every one of the other 11 scores below theirs, a loss for every score above and a tie for every equal score. All-play percentage is wins plus half the ties over all those games.
Luck index
Expected wins are all-play percentage times games played. Luck is actual wins (ties count half) minus expected wins, summed over seasons for the career figure. A career ranking needs 2 seasons.
Median record
A median win is a week where the score beats the league median (the average of the 6th and 7th highest scores); anything else is a median loss. The median delta is actual wins minus median wins.
Pythagorean expectation
Expected wins are games played times PF^p divided by (PF^p + PA^p), from regular-season totals per owner-season. The power p is fitted by trying every value from 1.0 to 15.0 in steps of 0.1 and keeping the one with the smallest squared gap to actual wins (fitted power 6.7). Pythagorean luck is wins minus expected wins. The fit over 120 owner-seasons has a squared error of 152.2, against 358.5 for the classic 2.37.
Strength of schedule
Each opponent's points per game, divided by the league average and multiplied by 100, averaged over the owner's regular-season games. Career figures weight each season by games played.
Points-against index
Points against per game divided by the league average, times 100. Career figures weight each season by games played.
Weekly finish grid
Each regular-season score is ranked 1 to 12 within its week, highest first. Equal scores share the higher rank, so the one tie at the bottom (2016 week 12, two owners at 74) puts both at 11th and the grid has 134 twelfth places in 135 weeks, while both owners get a spoon.
Crowns
Weeks with the league's top score. A tie at the top crowns everyone tied.
Spoons
Weeks with the league's lowest score. A tie at the bottom gives everyone tied a spoon, so 136 spoons go out over 135 weeks.
Cheap wins
Regular-season wins while ranking 10th or worse in the week.
Bad beats
Regular-season losses while ranking in the week's top three.
Dynasty Elo
Every owner starts at 1500 at their first real game. Before each season, every rating moves one third of the way back toward 1500. The expected result comes from the rating gap: an even gap is 50% each and a 400-point gap gives the higher-rated owner 10-to-1 odds. After a game the two ratings move in opposite directions by the K factor times (actual result minus expected result), with 1 for a win, half for a tie and 0 for a loss. The K factor is 20 times (1 + ln(1 + 4 x margin of victory / the week's mean score)), where the week's mean is the average of both scores across all rated games that week. No home-field adjustment. Rated games are regular-season, playoff, title and third-place games; consolation, toilet-bowl and fifth-place games are skipped.
Upsets
Rated games where the pre-game rating gap was at least 50 points and the lower-rated owner won. The favorite win rate is the favorites' share of wins in all games with a gap of 50 or more. The list holds the 50 largest gaps.
Scoring environment
Mean, standard deviation, median, high and low of all regular-season team scores in each season, and of the 12 scores in each week.
Week-of-season index
For NFL week w: the average, over completed seasons, of that week's league mean score divided by that season's league mean, times 100. Week 14 exists in the Sleeper era only, and extremes consider weeks with 5 or more seasons.
Margin distribution
Regular-season margins of victory, binned 0-5, 5-10, 10-20, 20-30, 30-40, 40-50, 50-75, 75-100 and 100+, overall and per era.
Consistency profile
For each owner-season on regular-season scores: points per game, standard deviation, the coefficient of variation (deviation divided by points per game), the floor (20th percentile), the ceiling and the lowest score. Ranked from lowest variation, with at least 13 games.
Career consistency
Each regular-season score becomes a z-score against that week's league mean and standard deviation. The career profile is the mean and standard deviation of those z-scores over completed seasons, plus the 20th-percentile floor, the ceiling and the lowest z-score.
Closers vs faders
Regular seasons are split at week 7 (early is weeks 1 to 7, late is the rest), with the record and win share for each half. The delta is late win share minus early win share. Ranked with at least 20 games in each half.
Mid-season swing
Standings after week 7 (wins, then points for) are compared with the final position: the bracket seed for playoff teams, then non-playoff teams by final regular-season rank. The climb is the week-7 rank minus the final position. The playoff share is the share of week-7 top-six teams that reached the bracket.
Seed to finish
Bracket seed by final placement over the completed brackets (six seeds, seven in 2020), with titles and title-game appearances for each seed.
Points King
The owner with the most regular-season points. Outcome is title, lost final or missed final.
Playoff vs regular
Playoff wins and losses over real playoff games (playoff, title and third place) of completed seasons, with points per game. Each playoff score also becomes a z-score against every real bracket game that week, and the average is shown. The gap is playoff win percentage minus regular-season win percentage. Ranked with at least 3 playoff games.
Playoff streaks
An appearance is a place in the bracket field. Streaks and droughts count consecutive seasons the owner played; the active run is the one standing at the end of the owner's last completed season.
Optimal lineup
The best lineup for a week is the highest-scoring way to fill the 11 starter slots (QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, flex, IDP flex, DL, LB, DB) from that week's rostered players. An empty slot scores 0, so the optimal is never below the actual score. A player can fill a slot only if his current Sleeper position allows it, so a player whose position has since changed can be barred from a slot he really started in (one known case: Quincy Williams at DB, 2021 week 5, now listed at LB only).
Taxi and IR
Candidates are the players in a roster's weekly points listing, minus anyone on taxi or IR at season end unless he started that week. Taxi and IR status is only known at season end, so the computed optimal lands between 0.965 and 1.037 of Sleeper's own maximum points, checked for every owner-season.
Efficiency
Actual points are the starters' points, which match the matchup score in all 1,184 Sleeper lineups. Points left are optimal minus actual, and a perfect week has under 0.01 left. Efficiency is total actual over total optimal, every regular-season week (13 on MFL, 14 on Sleeper).
Regret losses and gift wins
A regret loss is a game lost where the optimal lineup would have beaten the opponent's actual score. A gift win is a game won where the opponent's optimal lineup would have beaten the winner's actual score. Owner and career counts cover regular-season weeks; the regret list also carries playoff games.
Worst start/sit
For every benched player and every slot he could have filled, the gap is his points minus the points of the player who started there. The largest gap is kept for each owner-week. The list holds each week's largest (weeks 1 to 17) plus the all-time and per-season top 10.
FAAB claims and return
Claims are completed Sleeper waiver claims. Return points are the claiming owner's started points for the player from the week after the claim through week 14, stopping at that owner's next drop or trade of him. Points per dollar is return points over the bid, for bids of $10 or more. An expensive claim is a bid of $40 or more, and a hit when it returns 50 points or more. A brick is a bid of $30 or more with the lowest return.
Season FAAB spend
Season spend is the budget Sleeper reports as used. The transaction record holds only in-season claims from 2022, so the bids listed can add up to less than the budget used. Claims processed more than a week before the NFL week 1 Thursday (July and August, 2024 to 2026) count as preseason and are left out of the weekly spend curves.
Burn curve
Each week's winning bids summed, preseason claims left out. Cumulative share is the running share of that season's in-season dollars.
Roster churn
MFL adds are free-agent and waiver transactions (2016 logged nearly every add as a waiver claim, and drop-only free-agent moves are included). Sleeper adds are players added by completed waiver and free-agent transactions. Players added and drops count the players actually added and dropped in both eras.
Average stint
The mean number of seasons a player spends with an owner, from the loyalty records on the Record Book page.
